Glass Tube Cutting and Conveyor System:

This conveyor system is used to both convey fluorescent bulb tubes as well as cut them to length. The conveyor chain is custom designed to move the tubes along the manufacturing line while rotating them in order to evenly heat the tubes as they pass a burner/knife arrangement cutting them to length. One side of the system rides on linear rails allowing the width to be changed via a hand wheel driven ball screw. This allows the system to accommodate a wide range of tube lengths. Waste chutes are used to funnel scrap to the factory under-floor collection system.
